Inclusive school. Integration of the disabled children in a normal school
Aim :
inclusion of the children with mobility impairments associated (not compulsory) with an easy mental handicap in regular schools (“inclusive school”)
What it means :
more than putting the pupils with a handicap in a normal class
a preparatory period before integration
a continuous support after integration
Beneficiaries :
35 pupils, 7-12 years old, with mobility impairments associated (not compulsory) with an easy mental handicap, coming from financially and social disadvantaged families, who
• either they didn't attend any sort of educational program
• or they are coming from special schools
• or they are attending a regular school but they have great difficulties to integrate themselves (due to several reasons: physical, psychical, social etc.)
What can we do for them :
• need assessments
• training sessions at their home, according their individual needs, aiming to achieve such a level allowing them
• to attend a regular school (if they don't)
• to obtain better scholar results
continuous support
mutual counseling between home teacher and school teacher
psycho-pedagogical counseling of children and their families
Results :
a better integration of disabled pupils in regular schools
preliminary preparation for integration of pupils don't attending a regular school
knowledge' assessment tools
psychological monitoring tools
a self-financing plan for this activity (by involving beneficiaries coming from families with financial possibilities, who can cover partially the costs)
